Comprised primarily of found objects assemblage is a type of sculpture, or what I sometimes refer to as 3-dimensional collage.
The found objects can be anything organic or man-made --bits of wood, interesting pebbles, feathers, bones or a twisted piece of metal, an old telephone, buttons or a plastic mask. I’m partial to shells, and yes, I’ve been known to dip into the glitter jar.
Really any object that sparks the artist’s creative impulse can find itself moving from the trash heap into a sculptural composition.
Assemblage is a great deal of fun to create!
